The “Gentle Giant” with a Wildcat Look

The Maine Coon captured our hearts more than ten years ago. Upon first sight, many mistake them for a wildcat. However, once you get to know this breed, you will be surprised by their affectionate nature.

👥 Sociable & Involved

Coonies are extremely people-oriented. They follow you everywhere and prefer to be “in the thick of it” rather than just observing. They get along excellently with dogs and are very fond of children.

🎭 The “Clown” of the House

Despite their size, they are fast and agile. They retrieve toys, play hide-and-seek, or curiously carry objects to small “stashes.” They remain playful well into old age.

🧘‍♂️ Zen Master on Four Paws

Noise or unfamiliar situations rarely disturb them. They are incredibly calm, but by no means boring – once they get going, they are hard to stop!

🏠 Indoor Living & Sleep Needs

With up to 16 hours of sleep per day, they are well-suited for working professionals. However, as indoor-only cats, they require sufficient variety and play opportunities.

Outdoor Access

Maine Coons enjoy nature, but the decision for outdoor access should be carefully considered. Once accustomed to it, they will not want to miss this luxury.

Our recommendation: We strongly advise a secured outdoor enclosure (garden or balcony). This allows your cat to enjoy the fresh air without being exposed to the dangers of the outside world (traffic, diseases, getting lost).
